ACL view access

ACL view access

I have events, which shall not be visible for public or for registered users.
But they should be visible for a group (which has more rights but not the right to go into the backend= they are not specials.
Like that I need a new group. For that J25 is good. But not in yet in JEM.
EDIT: for view access JEM works with the 3 possibilities: public, registered and special. Not for more.
Does anybody can help.

uhmm, yeah I can but as you know it's not possible for me to change it at the moment. Maybe others can assist you with it.

I know that problem and I wish I could provide a solution. But JEM doesn't support J!2.5 ACL system yet and it's not easy to integrate this. I think it requires a little redesign with changes on a lot of files.

Because user can be member of a lot of (Joomla) groups assigned to a lot of access levels a list search (with exact match) is required instead of simple numerical less/greater check. I think Joomla/Platform provides classes which should help.

Additionally JEM has own user groups. But if I understand right these give additional "write rights" so the access levels should have higher priority (no write without read).

I think the EL-JEM rights for writing events and venues can be an alternative for Joomla ACL rights for doing.
But for viewing rights there's no alternative! And this is absolutely needed.

agreed, it would be nice to integrate the ACL thing and think a lot of people want it. It indeed requires a change in several files but well at the moment it's on the list for JEM 2.0+

Have mentioned it before but think something fundamentally needs to be changed otherwise you can't detect/give correct permissions (edit/view) to the event.

when I describe here, what I try, then I hope someone (not only you bluefox) helps looking for a solution.

I have a new ACL group "defined" with gid=9 and viewingaccesslevel=4
I can assort a JEMcategory to this group.
But the category with his events is not showed.
