Data from Eventlist to JEM?
6 years 9 months ago - 6 years 9 months ago
Hi,
I am going to migrate from an old 1.5 Joomla site using Eventlist. So I plan to use JEM now.
I am just wondering if there a way to import Eventlist data into JEM...
I can migrate the 7 database tables from Eventlist into Joomla 3 base. But can JAM use them?
What would be your advises to keep contnuity and avoid to set all from scratch?
Thanks for your help and suggestions!
Paul

update to eventlist 1.0.2 on joomla! 1.6 - 2.5
then you can update to JEM 2.2.3 on Joomla! 3.8.5
then you can update to JEM 2.2.3 on Joomla! 3.8.5

Hum... I am using JMigrator for Joomla from Daycounts as I have a Virtuemart eshop too...
There's no intermediate 2.5 step
Do you think that if I use directly a JEM 2.2.3 on 1.0 Eventlist database tables it could work?

You should not do such huge upgrades on a live system anyhow.
So my suggestion would be you go for two different upgrade paths on two copies of your live system.
1) As you already planned with JMigrator (I cannot comment on that).
2) For JEM as jojo12 has suggested for JEM only. If successful export your JEM tables, install the current version of JEM from scratch in the result of 1) and import your JEM data.
Good luck!

OK you both tell me that I need to transit at EventList 1.0.2
So I have downloaded EventList 1.0.2 Stable and JEM 2.2.3
But please, could you advise me a (free) tool that could easily upgrade Joomla from 1.5 to 2.5 and then from 2.5 to 3.8.5 ?

sorry, you are a bit late to migrate from joomla! 1.5!
please search in the forum posts: There must be informations for that. Computers never forget, humans forget. But I am not motivated to retry, or remember what I made years ago. good luck.
