Feature requests for JEM 2.0 - initial public release
possibility for "will not attend"?
possibility for "will not attend"?
10 years 5 months ago - 10 years 5 months ago
Hi, I remember a feature request in the old times, which we never resolved:
And beware, it's not for now
Maybe a special case but for some clubs very interesting anad useful:
Your users are all members of trainings.
Normally they should participate because they are needed.
(So normally they're attending)
If one person can not attend, he should be able to say "will not attend".
So you know how many you will probably be for this training.
is there any possibility to realize this?
- Perhaps Inverting the whole attending with a switch
- automaticly add all users to attendings, so they can say, they will not attend
-any ideas?

Hi Jojo,
had the déjà vu too and found this topic from Lars .
Because I think that nearly never really ALL users have to attend I think an "autoregister all" feature is not a practicable way.
A deluxe version would give event owner the possibility to collect a list of users which should answer - not easy to make it easy to use.
In a simpler version we only add a "can not attend" checkbox/radio button and maybe a text field for a short "Why".
But also I think we need to enhance attendee table to collect these users too. So it is a bit more than these one/two additional form fields.

All,
i'm also looking for this functionality
1. Will you be attending?
2. I will be attending
3. I will not be attending
is there a plan to have this embedded ?
otherwise is there an easy way to implement it yourself in the code (which files to edit) ?
thx

Hi Helsen,
currently I must answer both questions with no.
Implementation requires touching files from the view down to the db table but also most other models to handle the new "will not attend" entries.
But I think it's really a useful feature so we should make a plan to add it.
// internal:
add field to db table, find and adapt all queries accessing this table, adapt counters, add counter of non-attendees (e.g. show them in details view), show but mark non-attendees in attendee list view; don't forget to check all modules and (3rd party) plugins, e.g. mailer - see issue 893 for tracking

Thank you for the quick response !
So we wait for this addon , in the meanwhile we'll keep using the current JEM functionality
Is it known when the next release will be available ?
thx
