Event List (Simplelist) Order

Hello, is there a way to specify the order of the events in the simplelist view to Most Recent first or Oldest first?

Similar to the way we can order the articles in a category.

I can’t seem to find that option anywhere.

Do you want this in frontend or backend? If you have the setting "archived" and day=1, the most recent is always first (except the events with open dates, which are always on top).
But then in the calendar, you only see the actual and upcoming events.

You can order by clicking on date header to change the order.

The option is on the frontend, but it would be great to have it in the backend too. So I can choose by default what order the events appear in.

Does that make sense?

I see what you are saying there but, i would like to defeine the simplelist order in the frontend from the menu item in the backend.

In the frontend i can sort by
Date
Title
Venue
City
State
Category

But i can't specify what to sort by in the menu item options.

Or if there is any other way to sort by date (newest first) i would be very grateful.

I think, there is no menue to define this. And I am not sure if this feature will be added.
(so you must do it via ftp. I think in the model. So this must be coded in the core JEM and will be overwritten when updated.
