[Solved] Could not instantiate mail function. Failed sending notification email

I moved to a new server and now I get this error when sending the notification. How can I fix this?

did you activate jem mailer plugin?

Yes, and it worked on the other server

Not that long ago I had to migrate one Joomla! web presence to another server.
There I had to change the Joomla! settings for the sending of all e-mails because the old way was not supported anymore.
But that could be tested in the Joomla! settings already.
So, did you check that?

I got a reply from my hoster, they said on the new 64bit server it is not possible to use phpmail with the parameter -f anymore
I should leave the return_path/-f empty if possible

Or even better switch to smtp, which I will do
