Yes, the responsive template is part of JEM 2.3.1, you do not need to install an additional template.

I was looking in the settings from the actual version but I am getting the error that the update server isn´t availabe...
So what would be the best way to update from 2.1.6 to 2.3.1? Couldn´t find any help on that.

Hi ffah,

Unfortunately I don't know anyone, who did that in one step.
I suggest to make a backup of that live site, install it in a test environment (eg. in a local LAMP, WAMP, MAMP or XAMPP) and try this in one step.
Possible installation ways:

1. From the Joomla! Extension Library from within the administration of your test site:
   Extensions > Manage > Install - and there the tab "Install from Web" (search for "JEM")
2. Download from www.joomlaeventmanager.net/download and install within the administration of your test site:
   Extensions > Manage > Install - and there the tab "Upload Package File"

(Personally I prefer 1.)
If this works well, do the same for your live site.

I thought so too, that it would be a big gap between those two versions.

But glad to get some advice from you.

Does that error message I am getting points to missing updates?
The owner of that site stated it worked 2 days ago and nothing was changed since then.
