How to delete an attachment? Why is PDF broken?

Hi,
visitors of our page reported problems when trying to open an attached pdf file: the pdf was broken and couldn't be opened while the source pdf before uploading was ok. JEM adds a number to the file name - maybe this is the cause?

When trying to delete the unusable attachment I found no way to delete it. The only chance was to make it only visible for super users, so invisble for public.

That cannot be right - what am I missing?

that's surprising. JEM itself does not touch uploaded attachments. But I remember Joomla makes some crazy things - maybe they added new crazy stuff we have to switch off. Appending a number on filename is completely harmless and does not influence the content itself.
Deletion of attachments is very easy: On Attachements tab of Edit event view (backend or frontend) click on the little red icon on the most right column.

If your unusable PDF is not secret and not too large it would be good if you could send me both, the original and the uploaded file. This would help me to analyse and reproduce your problem.
Ah... and Joomla, JEM, and sometimes PHP version would be helpful in general.

the tiny 1px red dot? Please, don't call it icon. I discovered it following your hint under microscope. It's too far from the file name. I was hovering over the file name expecting a big X to show up. Maybe the devs should improve its visibility.

No, I mean the good visible 16x16 icon. The devs are not responsible for your site template, sorry.

Well, I'm not using any eaxtraordinary template, it's Joomla's default admin template Isis, where the icon looks like this:



If it was your shown size I'd have discovered it. I use glasses, but I'm not blind.

Crazy... on my J! 3.8.3 BE Isis it looks like this:



Also I tried to upload your original pdf file on J! 3.8.3, JEM 2.2.2 - always I get a file with exact the same 33.018 Bytes as your original. Do you have any additional plugins or filters? I can't see any problem.
