We had big trouble importing the venues table.
I found out that our venues start with ID 7 and not 1. After import all records get a new ID. So the locations for all events are wrong.
I added manualy 'dummy' locations by copying the first one in the database and changing the name to 'dummy'.
I kept the existing order, just inserted missing records (= ID's).
I think this is wrong behavior. ID's should never be the recordnumber. Please have a look at the import process. We will not be the only ones that delete a location that is not used.
Working from a shadow joomla 3.5.1 witth jem 2.1.5 install after updating from 2.5. Data and lists seem ok. Import to new joomla 3.7 and actual jem 2.2 failed, locations/venues are mixed up.
Step by step updated shadow jem to 2.1.6, 2.2.0 and .2.2.1 to latest. Data ok. Made export of all steps to 4 .csv files. In the first step a record with id 111 was missing. After just saving that record again, it was exported.
Without altering i import those latest files (that came from the same jem version) to the live site. First I pushed the button to delete all jem data. I imported all tables, default settings. Started with the venues, and events as latest.
With all exports I entered date 1990-01-01 to 2030-01-01 and selected all. (Missing the option to select all records!)
It does not matter what export I import. They gave all the same result. All ID's from the venues were changed to their recordnumbers (the order in the export table).
If there is to be an order of import to be followed, I would expect that message.

Replace if ID exists (otherwise create): Choose yes if you want to overwrite events with already existing IDs want. When no, every event is recreated with a new ID.
I imported everything with default settings in an empty database.
B.t.w. Today one discovered that all events refer to the wrong categories also. This list is also wrongly imported.
I can send you the four .csv files in a zip for evaluation. Not through the forum I think.
