Alternative list views
Alternative list views

Is there anyone who has created an alternative, more responsive, view for the list views of events? The default views are really basic lists and don't match the styles of your site template. (I know I can alter the css, but please remove de orange and greenish colors by default and comply with the standard Joomla templating interface)
I've created an alternative layout myself, which you can find here: ugenda.nl , but I'm still not satisfied. I would rather like to see something fancy like the JEM-Wall . But the drawback is that this is a module, and not a component view.
Is there anyone who has good examples of JEM views and is willing to share? Please contact me, if you want to use my template.

Thanks for sharing the Stevent!
I already like the result. One of the main issues we 'd need to resolve is 'separating' the design from JEM, so it would become easier to install custom templates.
As far as I can see you have also used new icons? Did you use non-copyrighted icons?
I would like some modern icons too....

@ernst67 These are no icon images, but font icons. At the moment I use UK-font icons which come with my Yootheme template (this dates before Joomla 3). I'm going to update this to use the standard Joomla 3 iconset, which you can add to your template with css. I.e. if you want to add a location icon, add the following css code:
<span class="icon-location"> </span>
Advantages are: you don't have to load images, so the page loads faster, you can scale the icon with font size and give them a font color.
More information can be found here:
docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Joomla_Standard_Icomoon_Fonts
<span class="icon-location"> </span>

That's even nicer!
In my opinion It should be done like this in JEM too. But I'm not sure if we have anyone amongst our forum members who can re-work the template.....

A much bigger collection of font icons is
FontAwesome
.
But ist not given by default, so we should detect if it is available and when not, include self.

@stevent: You know, I like your work. Your changes are very interesting.
Me too, for my sites I tried to adapt and change a lot. But I worked after all on modules(mod_jem_banner_wide).
you can see it on www.kath-jugend.ch .
But I am not a developer and only a tryI can not promise, but I would like to see your changes. Perhaps I can contribute something.
