There is no category chosen or category doesn't contain any ite

I am using joomla 3.6.2 version with your component. I am facing a problem Can you please help me ............

Problem : When I create a menu with the simplelist view then I am getting this message in my frontend "There is no category chosen or category doesn't contain any items"

But I have created a category and all the events is published under that category.....
But in this view there no option to select any category... so I am little bit confused why this is showing to me...

I am also using the calander view and there is no error...... Please help me to get rid of this.. am I missing anythings.?????
