Jem and JComment

Hello,
I install JComment to comment an event. The User see the comment box and can write a comment. But if they press the save button, the comment will not be saved. Not in the frontend not in the backend.

If I install sliComments I can write comments in normal text, but in the events I get no comment box.

So, what can I do to write comments with JComments.
Thanks.
Best regards
speedy

hi speedy,

have to test it out to know if it's trowing an error so will take a look tomorrow but maybe someone else can take a look.

at github you'll find a plugin dor jcomments within folder 3rd and maybe that one can solve your problem. it has to be copied to the jcomments folder (more detailed, tomorrow)

did see you mentioned slicomments. didn't know about that one but it would be good to try to make it work with JEM as people then have a choice of what system to use. did see the script was unpublished from JED due to broken links. did see it was on github so that's good.

Hi Speedy,

on my test site JComments works but I have a slightly patched version (e.g. to prevent comments shown to guests ;) )
But you need the file com_jem.plugin.php which unfortunately isn't provided on our download page because it would become part of JComments itself (if JEM is official listed on JED).
But you can get the file from GitHub : Download ZIP and extract the file from 3rd/JComments (or open it on GitHub, right click on Raw and choose Save as...). Then copy it into JComment's plugin folder and don't forget to also select com_jem in JComment's modules.

Hi,
thanks for the answers.
I try it with the new file... but I have the same problem. (I take the 2.3.0 version)

The problem is not only at the Jem Comments. The problem ist on the whole site. I write an comment, press save. but the comment is not in the article or event....

it can be that it's conflicting with some other script.

did you try to disable all 3rd party scripts, renable the jcomment and then see what it does.

Hi,
i look for the plugin an activate all JComments Plugin

I don't know what 3rd party scripts are critical. If I activate CComments... thats no problem. But Ccomments is not in JEM.
