Ahhh. You are right. This is because the template opens the attachment form and not the category one creating a new category. Sorry, should have looked more carefully!

Yes, this is annoying. I'll file an issue at github

If you would open a new forum for the Joomla 3.1 version I would post some more bugs in separate threads.
