category sort order display when adding an event

I am new to this component an trying to understand how everything works, so there are likely to be a few questions.

When adding or editing an event, Is there a method of displaying the category titles in alphabetical order when the drop-down category selection field is displayed?
currently the categories are displayed in the order that they were initially added.
