Questions about a future version of JEM
Questions about a future version of JEM
8 years 4 months ago
I have questions about development versions 2.2.0 RC1 (I tried to install the latest version from github.)
1) If the author sets the event that the event is by invitation only, how to invite attendee to log in?
2) Will be able to author events (or other attendee of the event) to log another attendee from frontend (as well as the administrator of the backend)?
E.g. Those interested in the event not access the Internet, so it logs author or other attendee of the event ....
That for us was a great feature.

you are a bit too early! Like that you don't get a 2.2.0 RC1
I try to answer as much as I can
1) the invitation can go only to the known users (registered in Joomla). With an email. Then the invited person has to login and register for the event .
2) This is only possible from the backend, and only to add (in Joomla) registrated users. But with the optional comment (added to the attending/non-attending) the author can know additional participants. But you have to know: they will not be automaticly counted.

I agree that the user (events participant) must already be registered.
1) That I understood. But I have not found an option where to set the names of registered users who receive an invitation by mail?
2) I thought so when author events is not an administrator (do not have access to the backend). It needs to add attendees from frontend.
I hope I have explained it better, my English is not very good (helping with Google Translator)

1) BE In settings>user rights you must activate invitations.
then FE: editevent other you'll see a possibility to choose the invited users.
2) At the moment this is only possible from the BE. You must authors give more rights (for the BE).
I don't know if this later would be possible, we have to think more about it and security problems....
If... then it will be for later. Let us first make this first step and it's a big one!
step by step, stone by stone...
