Sometimes webmasters realize websites not directly managed. Clients want websites and webmasters create them. After the release some organizations need to operate without webmasters. In the cases of events, usually, the organizations need to plan events. At the moment the events planning is a component used expecially for organizations. Sometimes the org are not profit and they cannot pay for an administrator of their websites. The webmasters need to form and teach everything to some local admins. Not all org have admins in their staff. For this reason they (webmasters) usually choose components very simple to manage; and local admins love to spend as less time as possible to manage their websites. Sometimes they forget the way to insert events in their online-plans.
So sorry for this long message: a good time managing component should have a good slideshow fully automated for the events. The orgs upload the flyer in the event page and the slideshow module span the flyers in the homepage. Only editing the event the org must have all automatic.

Hi there Jeyjey and welcome to our forum,

We understand you would like to have an integrated slideshow, and actually...: We would love to have one too!

At the moment our development team is way too small to create such a module. We are just a small team of volunteers, trying to bring a stable event management solution to the Joomla community.

The best thing would be if an external developer (free or commercial) would develop such a module on top of JEM. Actually, there is one good slideshow, you can find it here
Alas, the demo is not working, and I've tried to contact the developer some weeks ago, but did not succeed.

Your best option would be to contact a slideshow-developer and encourage them to create a version that pulls data from JEM.

We'd all be happy!

Hi, thanks for your soon reply. Yes that is what I am seraching for. I will try now. Consider to create at least a landscape view of your modules. For example, I have an example domain, www.esempio.org (italian). And I made a demo page od your component for a project that I am working for. The page of your component is THIS . As you can see the JEM modules are all vertical. Ok. But the homepage cannot be stylish because if you publish two events al modules are compromized. It would be necessary a landscape way to publish a module with two or three events without destroy the homepage. And then the calendar icons are beautifull. I like this component because it uses these modules, but the events images are little and the calendar icon is too big. It should be the inverse: a little icon od the date and a bigger thunbnails of the event. The flyer of the event is better in the Banner type module but there isn't the calendar icon that is very actractive. ..... sorry for my English.

Hi, I changed a bit the mod_jem_banner you are using too. Inside that it has a pool of events you can choose.
and then a shuffle to show random events. When I have a module which shows only one event at a time, then after each click (=refresh) it shows an other event. (sometimes the same). Wit additional ajax modules which refreshes this position after a given time, you have a kind of slideshow
I know, it's a pity ajax not to have integrated, but it helps.
(And I personally made in output.classes.php a flyer2 who saves the images bigger, so the slides are better too!)

Hi, thanks for your reply. I like the png that you provided, hoe to get it? I would like to know if you are planning to chang two of my needed. I can make a donation because usually I buy components. But I need to know if you think to change two things that are my problems. The first is the size of the icon that reports the date: for me is too big. The second thing is not the random slideshow but the landscape view. I would like to have two events but in landscape way and then in the little devices (tablet and smartphones) I would have in vertical way. This is the responsive view. Then, I cannot use ajax, so please how can I make a slideshow? I can live without slideshow, but it seems a lovely solution to show events. Thanks very mutch.
