create Module - Filter

create Module - Filter

Just an idea but it would be nice if there comes a filter module.
This way you can move the orange filter box fom the table layout page and for example place the module on the right/left.

just thinking:
- create module files
- add options
- add option to enter views that shouldn't display the module
- add a form in the module tmpl file
- add a submit button and when pressed it will also refresh the eventslist-page
- and some other things.....

the page is not loaded by AJAX so i will be a POST refreshing the page.

It would be nice if we can figure a way to refresh only the contents of the eventslist page (by ajax) without having to fully refresh the Joomla page. But that would be for later.

just a simple example
- on the right there is a module that will only be displayed when in the eventslist-view
- the filter_type can be selected and the text to search

when pressing the search button it will show the results on the left.

//
it's the protostar template but then a bit altered

Hm...nice idea but....

As far as I know there is no common way to keep content area and a module in sync. So trying to implement this will be a proprietary solution.

But a module can be used to provide a link which will show a page. So it's no problem to adjust filter within the module and request a simplelist view with all these filter values set. Just as if you click a day in calendar module which may request a day view (simplelist for one day).
No proprietary module - menu assignment, no ajax required. Joomla conform, simple, but effective, I think.
