improve of mailing + attending options

Why not integrating e.g. uddeIM like Kunena does? In our case by pre-loading all (or in attendee list selected) users. Ok, this would be frontend instead of backend.
can take a look at how that's working, but as said will first try in the backend.

But I think a Subscribe feature is a complex thing taking a lot of weeks to get it stable running.
indeed was mentioning subscribe/unsubscribe featuere but won't take a look at that one.

Jojo remembered right
indeed, seems to be long over due.

alright will make a start (this week) with mailing from the backend..
would say that this one takes a while to get sorted so it's probably better to tackle option 3 first :)

Hi, just wanted to add to this discussion as it's what I've come to the forum for. We've started using JEM for our Joomla User Group site. Firstly thanks for JEM, I just want to acknowledge all the time and effort that has probably gone into the product to date. It's a great product and I hope we can contribute toward making it better.

An area in particular where we feel some things could be improved a little to aid workflow, is around the registering of attendance. We want to encourage our users to register to our site and then inform us if they will be attending the monthly meets. The way the current output works just provides a very short message saying you need to be logged in to be able to register. This provides path resistance.

I think this is a missed opportunity, it makes the user scrabble around looking for a login option and takes them away from their path or worse it stops them in their tracks. I think there should be a button encouraging them to register(forget about whether they have or need an account at this stage)then take them to a nicely crafted page where they can login or create an account.

Of course all this can be done with overrides and we probably will do that but we were surprised at how this feature has been setup to work, seems a little after thought like.

Also there is no opportunity to register for each event from the list, I think this would be a good optional element for the list views.

Thanks again for JEM.

Thank you for your contributions! I want to contribute too

Simplelist should be a simple list. Please don't pack too much in this list! But it would be generally good to add a notice
(I made it in the intro - but better in general) : something like " for event details and registration please click on the event title. (not all are used to click on each link)

I don't know if this is possible, because there are different ways to login (joomla or cb or kunena...)
But it would be great if someone wants to register and isn't yet logged in, he is leaded to the login (and then perhaps back to the event register.

In some cases, it would be good to say (in event details) , it needs no registration to participate.

Thx for the info/feedback and you are definately right, things can and should be improved.
Hopefully someone will take on the job and add the features to JEM.
