Will JEM support ESS (Event Standard Syndication)?

I see that JEM has a level of support for RSS. Are there any plans to implement ESS as well?
The PHP libraries and example code on the ESS site suggest it may not be that difficult. There seem to be several Wordpress plugins now supporting ESS but I can't find anything that does so for Joomla.

To be honest ESS is new for me, but I do see the advantages. It will be hard to fit this in the busy development schedule.
Do you have any programming skills yourself?

Thanks for the replies. I did a lot of PHP development in the past, but not much for a few years. I will have a look at the JEM code and see if I can get my head round it. Is there a good starter document on coding for JEM?
