possibility to choose show/hide eventimage for each menu separa

possibility to choose show/hide eventimage for each menu separa

It seems there are people who don't like eventimages, or not in all cases.
Because of that we don't have a common view for all tables.

So I think it would be good to have a common view for all tables in menues.
But then to have a possibility to choose for each menu show/hide eventimage.

Does this make sense for you. Is that quick'n'easy to create and does it blow up the code too much? What do you think.

(But first of all, we have to finish 1.9.6, and not to add more and more. IT'S TIME)

Hi Jojo,

not sure what you mean. There is a global setting to show/hide event images on all list views / tables.
Not every view has this column implemented so some tables never show images. But if you decide "Hide" it shouldn't be shown in any table (otherwise it's a bug ;) ).

What we not have is a way to show/hide image in some tables (e.g. per view type or menu item).

So we can make people happy who don't like event images, but not people of "not in all cases" fraction. But they can use template overrides to hide images; showing is more complicated because not each model provides all data. (e.g. you can simply switch to common list on day view but you would never see an image because day model doesn't give you the image field)

btw: Because views can be shown without corresponding menu item there should be a global param (for each view type) too. For me menu item params are not very safe. It's easy to become confused.

this global setting is for all views with the common table view.
Not every view has this column implemented so some tables never show images.
yes, e.g. dayview...

But it could be, that in some cases I don't want the eventimage, and in other cases I want eventimages.
So it would be good, to have a choice in each menu (xml) to chose that for this menu.

For us we would have only a common table view for all.
models can easy be adapted (add query for datimage)

But I am not an expert (you know)

This setting should be observed by every view having such a column.

I know. And especially for day view it's on my todo list to allow users to switch to common event list. (#630 + #631)

I'm sure you are an expert! Maybe not on coding but guaranteed somewhere else. :)

think it's also a bit linked to my feature request "select filters/columns" so yep it will be looked at somewhere in the future.

There is also the problem that the global list setting (show/hide, percentage) are used for event lists AND venue lists.
Maybe we found a good solution for all of this. (2.x; x > 0 ;) )
