Update procedure should be integrated into Joomla

Hi,
I just discovered that new versions of JEM are not displayed when opening Joomla's update routine.
In JEM there is a separate update control, which only shows that a new version is available - but opening the link doesn't update, it offers only a zip package for download. That's a quite unusual procedure.
Are there plans to integrate the JEM extension into Joomla's update routine? I would appreciate that.

Aldo it's relative easy to add it's one of the many things that has to be done.
Actually there is an issue from 2013 at Github for it.
ah well, hopefully Hoffi (or others) will add the option soon.

This is not a matter of 'nice to have' but a must for the next version.

If our next version we upload to the JED does not use the auto-updater, we will be left our of the Extensions Directory
