Hi,
Maybe it is useful to someone...
just had a quick look around on the redEvent Site and they say the component is now for free and it looks like it is still only for J2.5...
Cheers

That's right, and that probably indicates there will not be a Joomla 3 version.

9 years 11 months agoHm... sounds as if redEvent allows complex registration via a form while on JEM attendees are limited to say "Yes" or later "No, sorry". So in this part you will definitely lost information. Also if you need a more complex registration form you need a separate formular component and have to add the form (mostly a "token" which will be replaced by a content plugin) or a link to a page containing the form in e.g. event's description.Bluefox wrote: uhmm,
another complication will be that the component "red_form" is needed before you can use "red_event" properly, also here it will be a matter of finding out how things are integrated.
But the core data should be importable. It's just a lot of work to map redEvent's fields to JEM's fields. For pure fieldname mapping it could be made easy directly in SQL using something like "SELECT red-fieldname AS jem-fieldname ..." and export the resulting table. Then adapt the table name and try to import it using JEM Import Csv feature.
So far the theory...

I tweeted the redComponent team recently, and they said that they plan on releasing a Joomla 3.0 compatible version in the next few weeks. I would still prefer to migrate to a more active platform however.

Sorry to rewarm this old threat..
I am currently planning to convert from redevent to JEM, cause RedComponent does not seem to develop this RedEvent further - maybe they completely stopped working.
Anyone with any hints, unfinished snippets of code, sql queries or stuff wich might help me ?
If it makes sense, Iĺl develop a joomla plugin to help the migration...
