Roadmap

In my conversations with Edmond we spoke about which version to use as a starting point to work from.
He was also in favour of using 1.1 as a starting point, implementing the code changes of 1.0.2 to make it Joomla 2.5-installable.

In my opinion it's right, to set on 1.02.
This works just longtime under Joomla 1.6+. And there were a lot of posts and solutions to integrate things from 1.1.
Meanwhile EL 1.1 only works under Joomla 1.5, which is not anymore sustained.
(I am not willing to go back to Joomla 1.5 only for this, so I could not help).

I would strongly suggest that no messy code and hacks is uploaded into the repo.

My experience with Bluefox is, that there are sometimes messy things, but with our feedbacks he quickly resolved all the problems. (as no developer )
I have experience with other extensions. They waited and waited to have better code, but never ended...

What does DV mean?

For that I think DV means developing version(s). You can also work with alphas betas...

DV stand for development, but alright will rename it to DEV. If we have a version then the thing can berenamed.

Yes you're right: favour was v1.1 but the opinion is changed, this due a mail of Edmond (changed his mind). Converting v1.1 would lead to many hours of converting but converting v1.02 and integrate v1.1 stuff was better. So yeah it is and was confusing, also cause i don't mind to do both ways.


About the messy stuff:
Actually i do mean thing in the pages like commenting stuff and did not remove it. But alright am willing to clean it up, in the weekend.

Also with the multicat thing: some pages have been altered but the frontend is having troubles. Will revert things back to a workign version (frontend + backend) and will upload the multicat changes till it's finished.

Confusion resolved As I use v1.02, that's perfectly ok for me

i'm also having exams, so won't do that and will concentrate at/for school.

well did do some converting in the weekend and do have a converted version of v1.1... And now there are two versions :S ..

I've tried to intregrate the multi-cat thing within the v1.02 but did not succeed that well. After that i decided to try it the other wat around so start with the v1.1 and that seems to be going well. at this moment i do have a running version of v1.1 but then in Joomla 2.5. But there are things left to be altered (like the plugins, installer, uninstaller, etc..).. That version is located in JEM-11CONVERTVERSION...

But preventing this topic to be very long i think it's better to post messages in the section "Development"...

Yep i know it's not handy to work with two version so perhaps it's better to replace the code in the JEM-DEV folder with the one of JEM11CONVERSION.
(hmm, flipping the coin again :huh: ). It's far easier to use the v1.1 code and alter that.
