[FR]Display upcoming events for next N days

It would be useful to show the upcoming events for a certain time period in the future.
Who wants to see the events that start in three weeks or ended 2 weeks ago - very strange!

I don't know who. But if there is one (s)he doesn't need to post a feature request because it's possible with JEM.

Generally JEM component's views are designed to show all things the site admin publishes.
So if you don't want to present old events configure JEM to automatically archive them.
Also if you don't want to present events around next X-mas don't publish them.

I'd like to explain my use case and i am shure that i am not the only person or organization with a similar use case:
I would like to edit the dates of a complete sports tour and then forget about it.
I think many who plan a lot of events in advance would appreciate, if there would be settings to show the next upcoming events in the basic module without having to publish every week and delete, or unpublish the older events because there could exist other views where the past events need to be displayed.
I have edited the source to get this behavior but with every update i have to renew this modification.

Ok, talking about modules is a slightly different story.

The basic module shouldn't show any old events if you choose display type "upcoming" or "unfinished" and no negative time offset. That's because the modules check events against current timestamp while the component's views only use the published/archived state.

But you're right, there is no option to set a maximum time offset, there's only a count limit.
I think we can add such an option so events shown in a (basic/banner/teaser/wide) module can be limited by count and/or relative date.

Lieber Hans, ich versteh nicht ganz.
wenn man ein Modul mod_jem öffnet erhält man Einstellungen (siehe Bild)
bei mir funktioniert das.
Das Modul läuft halt so nach einzustellender Anzahl Events und nicht nach Anzahl nächster Tage. Aber damit sollte man eigentlich zurecht kommen. Du kannst dasselbe Modul mehrmals verwenden und jeweils die Einstellungen ändern.
So gäbe es z.B. eines für vergangene Events und deines für laufende und nächste oder nur kommende Events.
Da musst du im Code nur was ändern, wenn du rein nach dem Datum gehen möchtest.
